Youth Olympic Games 2010 to be hosted in Singapore

Singapore is doing her country proud lately. She has never hosted a major international multisports event but will be doing so in 2010. This will be Singapore's first. The first Youth Olympic Games will be in Singapore in 2010. In a ballot, Singapore beats Moscow for this right.

The Youth Games will feature athletes from the age of 14 - 18. There will be 26 sports altogether. It is good news for sports enthusiasts. Singapore itself has been encouraging her people in sports by even building a sports school for the children in Singapore. This major event is held once every four years.

Construction has started to make way for a 5,000 bed residence for the competitors and related. Wow, this is the largest accomodation I've heard!
