Raffles Hotel
This is a picture of the famous Raffles Hotel. This picture was taken during the December festive period, that is why you see the red ribbons decorated on it. Raffles Hotel is a colonial style hotel which was named after Sir Stamford Raffles (the founder of Singapore). Raffles Hotel has been built since 1887. Having survived The Great Depression and World War II, it was also once used as a transit camp for prisoners of war. Singapore Government declared it a National Monument in 1987.
Raffles Hotel is a sign of luxury and prestige in Singapore. Celebrities like Michael Jackson have even stayed in this exclusive hotel during his visit or concert in Singapore. The Raffles Hotel has many reputable food outlets within. Their service is also reputed to be one of the warmest in the hotel industry.
